Please understand that, in the interest of all passengers, we only allow a limited number of dogs and/or cats in the cabin.
Your pet must remain in its closed carrier under the seat in front of you for the entire flight and be able to stand, lie down, and turn around comfortably in its natural position.
The carrier’s dimensions (ventilated, waterproof, lockable, and compliant with IATA Live Animal Regulations) must not exceed the hand luggage size limits of 55 cm (length) x 40 cm (width) x 20 cm (height).
Please also note that only one animal per transport carrier is permitted, and the total weight of the carrier plus pet must not exceed 8 kg.
The transport carrier counts in addition to the hand luggage allowance of your booked fare.
Reservations for pet transport in the cabin can be made up to 24 hours before departure through our service center (+49 (0) 6171-69889-50). By registering, you agree to comply with the transportation regulations.

According to EU Regulation 576/2013 and EU Regulation 577/2013, we generally transport dogs and cats only from the age of 4 months, or from non-listed third countries. However, country-specific requirements may vary.
Sick or injured animals, as well as dogs and cats expected to give birth during transport or having given birth less than 48 hours prior, are excluded from transportation. Animals sedated by medication must respond when addressed.
Animals may only be transported in containers that comply with IATA Live Animals Regulations (IATA LAR). The animal must be able to stand upright without its head or ears touching the top of the crate and must be able to turn around and lie down in a natural position. Only one animal per crate is allowed.
Water and food containers must be included to care for your pet in case of unexpected delays. The container must be sturdy, escape-proof, clean, have a waterproof bottom, and be lined with absorbent material inside. The container must not have a grated lid. Please note that pet transport may be refused at check-in if the container is too small or does not meet IATA LAR requirements.
Transportation of animals for commercial purposes is excluded.

If the stated regulations are not complied with, additional costs (e.g., quarantine fees) may be incurred.
The following dog breeds are generally excluded from transport.
If these rules are violated, the airline reserves the right to refuse transport of the animal. The airline is not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from such refusal. This also applies to mixed breeds:
Short-nosed dog and cat breeds are particularly sensitive to temperature and stress, which can lead to serious health problems or even death. Therefore, they are generally excluded from transport on our flights.
Examples of excluded dog breeds include:
Affenpinscher, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Boston Terrier, Boxer, Bulldog (all breeds except American Bulldog), Bullmastiff, Chow-Chow, English Toy Spaniel, Griffon Bruxellois, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, Pug (all breeds), Pekingese, Pit Bull, Shar-Pei, Shih Tzu, Tibetan Spaniel.
Examples of excluded cat breeds include:
Persian, Burmese, Himalayan, Scottish Fold, British Shorthair, Exotic Shorthair.
This also applies to mixed breeds.
Transport of pets in the cargo hold is not permitted on Marabu flights.
