Safe travel for moms to be

Air travel when you are expecting is safe and trouble-free if your pregnancy is uncomplicated; however, we recommend that all expecting mothers consult a doctor before booking. In order to ensure the health and safety of you and your baby, Marabu has established the following policies.

Expecting mothers who cannot present a pregnancy passport / medical certificate / pregnancy statement to prove the stage of pregnancy may be denied boarding for safety reasons if the airline representative has doubts that the passenger can withstand the flight without requiring extraordinary care.

Up to and including 28th week

As long as you have not experienced any complications during your pregnancy, no restrictions for travel apply up to and including 28th week of pregnancy. However, it is advised to take your pregnancy passport with you to prevent possible delays at the airport. The document must state your name, last name and stage of pregnancy in weeks.

29-36 weeks of pregnancy

Single pregnancy

From the beginning of the 29th week up to the end of the 36nd week of pregnancy, either a medical certificate in English, stating that you are fit to fly and indicating the stage of pregnancy, or a pregnancy statement for air travel is required for traveling. The document must be dated within 10 days of your scheduled departure.

Multiple pregnancy

From the beginning of the 29th week up to the end of the 32nd week of pregnancy, either a medical certificate in English, stating that you are fit to fly and indicating the stage of pregnancy, or a pregnancy statement for air travel is required for traveling. The document must be dated within two weeks of your scheduled departure.

Marabu cannot accept expectant mothers with multiple pregnancies beyond their 32nd week of pregnancy.

Beginning of the 37th week and beyond

Marabu cannot accept expectant mothers in their 37th week of pregnancy and beyond.
